Triwitex elastic is a new special-core stretch yarn that is produced using the patented Triwitex spinning process. With Triwitex, the filament is always on the outside and wraps around the staple fibers like a corkscrew. The mechanical properties of the surface, such as pilling and abrasion resistance, are correspondingly high. With Triwitex elastic, a filament made of elastane is added to a conventional core yarn and wrapped around the yarn. Elastic filaments, such as spandex, provide greater comfort through increased freedom of movement, especially in woven fabrics.


The product family has grown further with the newly developed Triwitex compact variant. Triwitex compact is characterized by reduced hairiness and a very smooth textile surface. This variant is therefore particularly suitable for surfaces that should have a smooth, silky feel. The highly abrasion-resistant special yarn is suitable for woven or knitted fabrics. A major advantage for fabric manufacturers is that Triwitex is used as a single yarn due to its high tenacity, so no twisting is required. The yarn is predestined for applications where high abrasion and pilling resistance are required. The Martindale method, according to EN ISO 12947-2, has a pilling resistance of up to 250,000 cycles. The pilling behavior, according to the Martindale method, is also rated with a top score of 5.


Sleewitex is a suitable core yarn. The filament is located exactly in the center. The staple fibers are evenly distributed around it, which ensures the coverage of the filament. It is mainly the filament that determines the tensile strength of the yarn. However, the textile feel can be completely retained by the staple fibers on the outside. This means that rigid filaments with an unpleasant textile feel can be completely covered. The respective properties of filament and staple fibers can be fully exploited. The filament provides the mechanical properties, and the staple fibers give them a pleasant feel.
